“What is your advice really costing your clients?" This is an interactive online course, which is suitable for any livestock veterinarian interested in investigating the impact of disease, diagnosis and intervention on the profitability of a client’s business. It is particularly appropriate for those studying for a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice with a focus on livestock. The course will cover different methods of analysing impact to help make informed decisions regarding diagnosis and intervention. Participants are encouraged (but not required) to bring their own cases as examples to work through.
Webinars will be held on Wednesdays between 1pm and 3pm UK time (except for the last week when the webinar will run on a Thursday). Recorded versions will be available for viewing throughout the course. In addition, participants are advised to allocate 2-3 hours per week during the course for other online learning activities which will reinforce the webinar-based learning. Participants can earn up to 20 CPD hours.
BBSRC BURSARIES
Candidates who are UK residents and currently employed in the UK agri-food sector (e.g. veterinarians engaged in livestock or public health) may be eligible to receive BBSRC funding - see BBSRC eligibility guidelines (PDF) - and can apply for a 100% bursary through the Advanced Training Partnership in Intensive Livestock Health and Production to cover their fees.
