Course Information
- Benefits and complications from the different diagnostic techniques available for bladder, urethral and prostatic cancer.
- Molecular testing for the diagnosis of urinary cancer. What is the BRAF mutation test and when can it be useful?

- Medical treatment options - the role of chemotherapy in the treatment of bladder urothelial carcinoma and prostatic carcinoma.
- Minimally invasive treatments for malignant urinary obstructions: urethral and ureteral stenting, urethral balloon dilation and chemoembolisation.
What to do when a dog can’t urinate.
The course will cover novel diagnostic techniques for bladder, urethral and prostatic cancer. We will also review the various medical and surgical treatment options for these tumours as well as minimally invasive options (such as urethral stenting, balloon dilation and chemoembolisation) with an interactive and multidisciplinary approach. We will discuss complications and outcomes from these techniques, to help veterinarians identify which dogs may benefit from these treatments.
Why do this course?
The course will provide the tools for veterinarians to decide the best diagnostic approach in dogs with urinary cancer to widen their knowledge on the different treatment options available for these patients.
