About this course

A brief look at some of the novel markers and therapeutic agents that may soon feature in the management of canine and feline kidney disease.

This course will give ‘short bite’ introductions to novel biomarkers (e.g. Urine cystatin B) that are approaching clinical utility for canine and feline kidney disease reviewing when and why they might be applicable. It will also look at the evidence base for whether novel therapeutics entering the veterinary market e.g. SGLT-2 inhibitors and HIF-PH inhibitors are likely to play a role in CKD management in the future.

Why do this course?
This course is aimed at veterinary surgeons who are looking to get ahead of the curve and find out what might be coming in the future. Short introductions to novel diagnostics and therapeutics that will be in the veterinary sphere will be discussed and their potential utility explored including what further work may be required before recommendations can be made for general application.
