Understanding reproductive issues in captive lizards, and how veterinary nurses can be empowered to recognise clinical signs, provide excellent nursing care and contribute to good patient welfare in these patients.
This webinar discusses the most common reproductive issues in pet lizards that present to the veterinary practice, and how best to nurse these patients, depending on the treatment course outlined by the veterinary surgeon. We will cover how to determine the sex of a lizard, discuss their reproductive anatomy and the factors that influence reproduction, the clinical presentation and nursing care of: follicular stasis; dystocia; and cloacal prolapse, and analgesia in reptiles plus the use of ethograms.
Why do this course?
This webinar is aimed at veterinary nurses who would like to better understand lizard reproductive issues and the associated clinical signs, that may influence their nursing triage and holistic nursing care. It may also prove useful to those veterinary nurses with a keen interest in nursing care of reptiles in general.
