About this course

This hands-on one day course is designed to familiarise vets with quick, life-saving procedures needed in emergency practice. Each delegate will have the opportunity to perform vital procedures such as obtaining emergency intravenous access, intraosseous catherisation, bolusing fluids, placing chest drains on cadavers and performing CPR on resuscitation mannequins. A session introducing each procedure is then followed with practical sessions. Detailed notes on performing each procedure will also be provided.

This course is aimed at the general and advanced practitioners. It will be particularly useful for those enrolled in the e-CPD Emergency patient online, but participation in the e-CPD course is not a pre-requisite for this practical course.  More information on the e-CPD course Emergency Patient online can be found on our website: http://cpd.rvc.ac.uk/courses/emergency-patient-online-0
