About this course

It is with regret that the Royal Veterinary College has made the decision to cancel the Equine lecture: Endocrinopathic laminitis due to be held at our Hawkshead Campus on Wednesday 1st April. Being mindful of current UK Government public health advice about the risk of COVID-19 being spread through close contact, we feel that this is the correct decision at the present time.

The lecture will be recorded and an email will be sent to everyone who has purchased tickets.

If you haven't already purchased a ticket and would like access to the recorded lecture please click on this link to book.

This lecture will provide an update on endocrinopathic laminitis, which is the commonest form of laminitis in the UK and includes laminitis associated with the two hormone related disorders equine metabolic syndrome (EMS) and pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction (PPID; equine Cushing’s disease). It will include an overview of how these two disorders cause laminitis, how animals at an increased risk of endocrinopathic laminitis can be identified and what treatment options are available.

The other lectures available for you to attend in this series are::
