Course Information
This webinar will consider the importance of recognising justified fear-anxiety and responding appropriately as well as offering appropriate treatment plans when the motivation is outside of normal limits.
Fear-anxiety is the underlying emotional motivation in a large number of behavioural cases but as in all cases of veterinary medicine it is essential to make an accurate diagnosis before progressing with behavioural treatment. These emotions can be manifested in a variety of ways with some being more readily identified than others. The welfare implications for the animal are similar in all cases and this webinar will emphasise the importance of giving equal consideration to all behavioural responses to this negative (protective) emotional system. It will discuss the various factors involved in fear-anxiety motivation and consider how it is influenced through learning. The webinar will consider the importance of recognising justified fear-anxiety and responding appropriately as well as offering appropriate treatment plans when the motivation is outside of normal limits.
