About this course

In this webinar the role of frustration will be explored and the importance of meeting species specific needs will be considered in relation to ensuring that emotional motivations have an appropriate outlet.

There has been increasing understanding over recent years of the role of negative (protective) emotions in behavioural presentations but this can lead to a misperception that fear is always the motivation when a companion animal displays unwanted behaviour. In this webinar the role of frustration will be explored and the importance of meeting species specific needs will be considered in relation to ensuring that emotional motivations have an appropriate outlet. The concept of emotional conflict, where more than one emotion is triggered within the same context, will also be discussed in the context of behaviours which can be reported as being problematic and the specific presentation of compulsive behaviours will be considered.

Why do this course
