These lectures are designed for horse owners, riders and anyone with a passion for horses.

Our equine lectures are now back onsite at our Hawkshead Campus

Bookings are only via the website. Places are limited so please book in advance. (Please note: If you are unable to attend in person, you can purchase a recorded version of the lecture 10 days after the lecture date).

Registration will take place at 19:00 in the Eclipse building with complimentary refreshments will be available. The lecture will begin promptly at 19.20 continuing through until 21.00, with a Question & Answer session available at the end. You will also gain access to a recorded version of this lecture 10 days after the lecture date.

In this lecture Melanie Perrier, Lecturer in Equine Surgery at the RVC, will give an insight into what arthritis is, the causes and the pathology. Discover how to recognise the common clinical signs in horses with degenerative joint disease and what investigatory tools are used to confirm the diagnosis. Learn about the very latest treatment options that can be used to keep horses with arthritis comfortable and how to optimise performance – its more than just bute!
