Do you have the tools to answer clinical questions in practice? Would you like to work in a more evidence-based way?  Discover the evidence or generate your own!

Evidence Based Veterinary Nursing (EBVN) allows for structured approaches to the delivery and improvement of care and enhancements in customer relations, inter-team communications, practice policies and One Health. Veterinary nurses are in a unique position within the veterinary team to identify and answer clinical problems to improve outcomes for patients. EBVN is also a requirement of the Code of Professional Conduct for veterinary nurses and the practice standards scheme, through the use of clinical governance, yet it is a topic only covered in more recent nurse education.

In this online course you will be guided by two experienced lecturers on how to answer clinical questions with either an audit or pilot research project. You will complete activities to build these skills and take part in discussions. This will build the planning stages for your own clinical project. This course aims to foster clinical team engagement and encourage veterinary nurses to practice in an evidence-based way.

Why do this course?
EBVN is important for professional development, allowing RVNs to expand their knowledge in more depth, leading to further opportunities such as speaking at conferences, writing articles or book chapters and increasing your competitive edge for jobs within the field of your study. This course will help you to think critically about the decisions you make and justify your nursing practices, whilst helping you to develop your professional identity as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
