About this course

Feeling drained by your leadership role and responsibilities? Wondering if there might be a different way of doing things?

This ‘Coaching approach to personal and team leadership’ course is an opportunity for you to take time out from the pressures of day-to-day life to consider how you want to be as a leader and, most importantly, the practical steps you can take to achieve this within your context.

In this small group environment, you will work closely with us and with fellow veterinary leaders on developing your understanding of the theory and practice of coaching as they apply to you and your team. It is our intention that you will find this time spent with us transformational – gaining deep insight into what drives and energises you, the conditions you need to thrive and how you can create space for your team to do the same.

Why do this course?
This course is protected time and space to develop your understanding and skills in the theory and practice of coaching. We are experts in the field of veterinary professional development, priding ourselves in taking a coaching approach to our own self-development and professional practice (we ‘walk the walk’). You will work closely with us and a small number of peers, undertaking real life coaching practice and receiving immediate, individualised developmental feedback. Our aim is to reignite your passion for leadership within your profession and as such your enjoyment and engagement in the learning you undertake with us is our number one priority.

Evening meal
Liz and Rachel would like to invite you to join them for an evening meal on Thursday 26th at The Old Guinea, a 5 minute drive from the RVC. Everyone will pay their own meal and drink bill on the night to give individual flexibility. Taxis will be provided to and from the restaurant and the Hawkshead campus, courtesy of the RVC. Please also note you do not have to stay overnight at the RVC to attend the meal.

Accommodation
If you would like to stay overnight at the RVC on the 26th September please add the accommodation option to your basket and we will book this for you. A voucher for breakfast will be provided as part of CPD refreshments and not through accommodation. Please note all rooms are single study bedrooms with ensuite facilities. Bedding, towels and complimentary tea and coffee are provided, in addition to a kettle and a mini fridge. Wi-fi is available throughout the accommodation. A guest username and password will be provided. The accommodation does not offer kitchen facilities, but refreshments are included throughout both days of CPD. The College restaurant is open from 8.00am for breakfast. The restaurant does not offer an evening service.

If you wish to stay overnight on Wednesday 25th September also please contact us to book: cpd@rvc.ac.uk
