Carpal lameness is a common finding particularly in racehorses. Accurate diagnosis of the cause of lameness allows the veterinarian to implement the most appropriate therapeutic plan.
This webinar will discuss the clinical features and diagnosis of diseases related to the carpus. It will cover how to achieve a complete and diagnostic set of radiographs, perform ultrasonography of the carpal sheath and the palmar carpal structures. It will cover treatment options for horses with lameness associated with the carpal joints and when to consider referral or advanced imaging.
Why do this course?
This webinar is useful for ambulatory veterinarians that perform lameness examination. Attendees will learn how to identify and localise carpal related pain, optimise their radiographic and ultrasonographic examination of the carpus, how to choose the most appropriate therapy once they have reached a diagnosis and when to consider referral.
