About this course

Are you worried when presented with an extensive wound that might need surgery? Would you like to improve your confidence, knowledge and surgical skills in managing large or complex wounds?

This is a 3-week modular course that provides a solid foundation for surgeons who wish to review, consolidate and update their knowledge of advanced wound reconstruction techniques, including skin stretching, role of negative pressure wound therapy and omentalisation, local flaps, inguinal and axillary fold flaps, axial pattern flaps, skin grafting and tips for managing challenging wound reconstruction cases. Challenging cases will be discussed with the opportunity to ask questions and share any tricky cases of your own.

Why do this course?
The course will provide you with a solid foundation to understand the principles of wound reconstruction as well as practical tips for performing wound reconstruction. The course will update your knowledge of advanced wound reconstruction techniques, including skin stretching, negative pressure wound therapy, omentalisation, local flaps, axial pattern flaps and skin grafting techniques.
